Social spatial structure is the geo-spatial representation of the process in population development and it reflects the spatial distribution rule of social and economic attributes of population. In the agriculture area with large poor population, understanding of its spatial distribution can help the government forming the policy to collocate the resource, harmonize the population and environment and realize the sustainable development.

The spatial unit is based on the village. Four classes and 22 indexes are used for the study, which reflect the population status, natural resource, social fundamental condition and economic condition in the study area.  PCA (Principal Component Analysis) is used to analyze the original indexes. New comprehensively independent indexes are created for the further study for the social spatial structure of the studied area.

The analysis steps are as follows:

1.      Standardization of original indexes.

2.      Calculation of correlation coefficient matrix R.

3.      Calculation of eigenvalue and eigenvetor based on the characteristic equation .

4.      Calculation of contribution ratio, cumulative contribution ratio and principal component.

5.      Calculation of burthen matrix of principal component factor.

Based on the analysis result, the suggestions for poverty alleviation in the area will be given, such as strengthening farmland fundamental construction, development of agriculture economy and improvement of production and living condition, transformation of agriculture labor and adjustment of agriculture industry structure, adjustment measures to local conditions for the development of collective economy in the poverty area.
